Contact emergency services or go to A&E immediately if the swelling is accompanied by:
* Chest pain, tightness, or pressure * Severe shortness of breath or difficulty breathing * Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting.
Additionally, see a doctor urgently if:
* The swelling is sudden, severe, or only affects one leg * You experience pain, tenderness, or redness in the calf *The swollen area is red, hot to the touch, or the skin pits deeply when pressed.
